He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Austin Slater and Catherine Slater (MacDougall). He is survived by: his wife Eileen Slater (Samson); his sons, John Slater, Gary Slater (Kim) and Bradley Slater (Lisa); his stepson Blair Samson (Cathy); his grandsons, Kristopher Slater (Amy), Chandler Slater (Kailey Maltby), Randy Samson (Erin) and Kyle Samson (Haley); his great grandchild Leo; and his sister Brenda MacLeod.
