He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia "Patsy" Dorey (McNamara). He is survived by: his father Alfred Dorey; his children, Gina MacDonald (Joey), Grantville, Ryan Dorey, Krista Ratchford (Ryan), River Bourgeois and Shandelle Ryan (James); his siblings, Brent Dorey (Sharon), Bedford, Denise Kelly (Mike), Natasha Dorey and Evanston; his grandsons, Nick MacDonald and Rory MacDonald; and his nephews, Riley Kelly, Connor Kelly and Braden Kelly.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church (11 Church St, Cleveland, NS B0E1J0). A burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery (1621 Whiteside Rd, Cleveland, NS B0E1J0). Since the pandemic he had become one of Amazon's best customers, from gadgets to laundry soap – anything to avoid driving to the grocery store in Port Hawkesbury.
Donations in memory of Barry may be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund.
