He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Hood and Beatrice Hood (Forrest); his wife Kathy; his brother Calvin Hood; and his nephew Douglas Gracie.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Sharlene March (Shannon) and Daniel Allen March (Heather); his sisters, Donna Redd, Corinne Gracie (Albert), Nadine Ambrose (Jimmy) and Arlene Carter; and his grandson Jeremy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmen's memory can be made to the Northside Baptist Church, North Sydney Foodbank or the NS SPCA Cape Breton Shelter.
