She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Knowles and Clara Knowles (Falconer); her sisters, Catherine Roode of Prescott, ON and Clara Ann "Chookie" Rector of Pictou, NS.; her son James "Jimmy" Kirkby; her grandchildren, Jessica Kirkby and Travis Wilson; and her husband Alfie of Pictou, NS..
She is survived by: her siblings, Sylvia Mackenzie (Hughie) of Inverness, NS and Milton Knowles (Rosie) of Prescott, ON.; her daughters, Elizabeth Knowles-McBrien (Doug) and Monica Wilson (Tom); her daughter-in-law Kim Kirkby; her grandchildren, Samantha Moulton (Ben), Dustin Rennick, Michael Kirkby, Quintin and Conner Wilson; and her great grandchildren, Lincoln, Levi and Lilly Moulton. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital (Restorative Care Unit) would be greatly acknowledged by the family in memory of Zelma.
