He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Preston and Gladys MacKay; his wife Renate; his daughter Tanja McKay Ph; his granddaughters, Malena Ayala of Halifax and Adriana Ayala of Jonesboro, AR; his brothers, Ferguson MacKay (Miriam) of Trenton and Lloyd MacKay (Linda) of New Glasgow; and his caregiver Cammie.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Pictou County SPCA.
