She was predeceased by: her husband Jim McGaffin; her parents, Frank Taker and Marion Taker; and her siblings, Eleanor, Louise, Joyce, Frank and James.

She is survived by: her children, Joan Falconer (Alex), Karin MacDonald (Ian), Grace, Miller Frank (Carolynn) and Ron (Valerie); and her brother Cyril Hayne (Rose). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
