He was predeceased by: his parent Craig MacGowan; his son Christopher John; and his sister Mary MacGowan (Davies). He is survived by: his parent Fiona Henderson (Hay); his wife Isabel Jane (Campbell); his brother Silas Blair Kent of Toronto; his sons, Abraham Ewen of Pictou, John Ewen of Pictou and Roderick Ewen of Pictou; and his grandsons, Christopher Thomas Ewen of Lower Jemseg, N. B. and Matthew John of Fredericton, N. B..
