She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford MacLellan and Olive MacLellan; her husband Bruce Heighton; her siblings, John, Lloyd (Genevieve), Betty and Grace (Don); and her siblings-in-law, Irene, Nita, Hazel, Joyce, Janet, Almour, Robert, Vernon, Lloyd, Gerald, Anderson, Vincent and Gordon. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. James Anglican Church (36 Denoon St, Pictou, NS B0K1H0).

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. James Anglican Church, Pictou, or the Pictou Food Bank.

“So saddened to learn of Eleanor's passing.She was a fine lady; always so friendly and polite. We were in the Church choir together many years ago and I have many fond memories with her. I last saw her at the Nursing Home a few years ago but unfortunely not for a very long time since. She is now singing with the angels along with Bruce. R.I.P.
