He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillivray Ross and Muriel Foote; his close friend Bernice Rockey; his stepfather Melvin Foote; his grandparents, Burton and Olive Fraser; and his stepgrandparents, John and Ethel Foote.

He is survived by: his son Robert Ross; his granddaughter Kenli Ross (Stellarton); his uncle Brian Fraser (Woodfield); and his stepmother Donalda Foote. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
