He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Battist and Bessie Battist (MacIntosh); his wife Lillian; his children, Brian and Patricia; his siblings, Raymond and Doris; and his stepmother Rhoda.

He is survived by: his children, Sandra and Dennis (Jean I.); his daughter-in-law Debra; his grandchildren, Ronnie, Blair and Jody (Jeremy); his sisters, Vera, Audrey and Dorothy; and his sister-in-law Jean A. Battist. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
