He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Thompson and Olive Thompson (Wood); his wife Carole; and his grandson Noah. He is survived by: his children, Tania Thompson (Kendall Mills), Kent Thompson and Erin Emmerson (Michael); his grandchildren, Megan Thompson, Riley Thompson, Kayla Emmerson, Annika Thompson and Leslie Emmerson; and his siblings, Verna MacLeod, Charles Thompson (Gladys Mazerolle) of Oxford and Henry Thompson (Debbie) of Oxford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Donations in Douglas' name can be made to Pine Grove Cemetery, the QEII Foundation or the Truro Dialysis Unit.
