He was predeceased by: his parents, Norma Nix (Palmer) and Churchill Nix; his son Carl Allen; his parents-in-law, Evelyn and Craig Mills; and his brothers-in-law, Kenny Lavers and Fred Nix.

He is survived by: his significant other Gloria (Mills); his sons, Chris (Carrie), Troy (Heather) and Leicester; his grandchildren, Charlie, Crystal-Anne and Chelsea; his great grandchildren, Paisley and Churchill John; his sisters, Wanda Lavers, Faye Wood (Brian) and Jenetta Nix (Nancy); and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Nix (Tom) and Beverly Hunter (Eric). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
