We are sad to announce that on June 20, 2023, at the age of 81, Murdoch Lauchlin Olsen of Orangedale, Nova Scotia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Catherine (MacKinnon) and John Alfred Olsen; his siblings, Betty Malcolm, Marie Langley (late Freddie), Jean Amos (late Vernon), Oscar (late Gloria LeBlanc) and Roy (late Kay); and his brother-in-law Gordon MacPhail.

He is survived by: his wife Marguerite MacKinnon; his children, Robert, Beverley Phillips (Nick) and James; his grandchildren, Anna and Anthony; his sister Rena MacPhail; and his brother-in-law Pearlie Malcolm. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to L'Arche Cape Breton, Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, or Forbes United Church.
