He was predeceased by: his parents, John Willie and Elsie Marsh (Devoe); his wife Mary Johnstone; his son Alan; and his sister Elizabeth (Len Vickers).

He is survived by: his children, David (Anne), Bruce (Maureen), Louise Rahey (Cavel), Natalie, Harold (MaryAnn) and Janet Vickers (Darren); his niece Irene Howley (Ron); his grandchildren, Davida Pyett (Jason), Ryan Marsh, Jennifer Marsh (Matthew), Kathryn Hall (Mark), Allan Marsh (Paige), Adam (Dylan), Drew, Malik Rahey, William Marsh King, Emily, Andrew, Mary Claire Marsh, Juliana, Bradley and Joshua Vickers; and his siblings, Cyril (Marie), Elmer, Connie Zammit and Joan Fraser (David). He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
