She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Bona and Thelma Bona (White); and her siblings, Stevie, Johnny, Reggie, Jimmy Bona and Marina MacDonald.
She is survived by: her significant other Johnny MacIntyre (Fox); her children, Shawn O'Donnell (Jennifer) and Kate Apestiguy (Trevor); her significant other's children, Troy MacIntyre (Beth) and Jennifer Julian (Tony); her siblings, Joey (Linda), Elaine (Roddy), Brenda (Gary), Jeannie (Chuck), Betty (Pat), Midge and Yvonne; and also Marlene Bona. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family urges people to make a donation to the Cape Breton Palliative Care Society, Hospice Cape Breton, or to consider donating blood in memory of Sylvia.
