She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hurd and Agnes Hurd (Strickland); her husband Norman; her siblings, Lorraine Hurd, Violet Crane, Margaret Lewis, Betty Hurd, Albert, Kenneth and Bill Hurd; and her son-in-law Lloyd Fougere.
She is survived by: her children, Eva Fougere (late Lloyd), Creek, Norman Jr. (Debbie), Sheldon (Michele) and Bras; her grandchildren, Jason (Cassandra), Jenelle (Joey), Chad (Ashley), Ashley (Corey), Laura (Josh) and Stephanie (Trevor); her great grandchildren, Jayden, Jordan, Colton, Easton, Lucas, Maddison, Emerson, Claire, Theo, Jackson and Nicholas; and her pet Binou. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton SPCA, the Northside Hospital Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
