He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman MacLean and Mary MacLean (Young); his son Russell Jr.; his granddaughter Charmaine Cantwell; his great grandchild Landen Seymour; his siblings, Cyril (Siddy), George and Josephine Fullom; his nephews, Trevor MacKinnon and Chris MacLean; his son-in-law Stan Long; his parents-in-law, Gordon and Irene Jessome (McGee); and his sisters-in-law, Brenda, Kathleen and Patricia.
He is survived by: his wife Agnes MacLean (Jessome); his children, Joe (Terry), Ann Long, Mary Beddow (Wayne), Jude (Penny), Patrice Cantwell (Lorne), Nancy Cholock (David), Tracey and Sean (Melissa); his daughter-in-law Judy; his grandchildren, Angie (Trent), Sherry (Derek), Michelle (Leo), Joey (Crystal), Laura (Tom), Danny, Shamus (ShaunnaLee), Eric (Trisha), Jillian (Shane), Kylie (Kyle), Alley (Trevor), Chad (Brianne), Jennine (Roger), Ryan (Jessica) and Hannah (Jeremy); his siblings, Hector, Theresa Bennett (Roddie), Joey, Norma MacKinnon and Thomas "Buddy" (Mary); and his siblings-in-law, Ernie Fullom, Phyllis Wilkie (Albert), Marguerite Jessome, Maureen Bobbitt (Dave), Mary Rose Bennett (Eddy) and Beatie Jessome. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
