With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Astephen (North Sydney, Nova Scotia), who passed away on February 23, 2020 at the age of 70. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rita Astephen to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Bart MacLeod and Allina MacLeod of Sydney Mines; and her son Robert Wayne. She is survived by: her significant other Bernie; her children, Dwayne (Betty), Kim (Kevin) and Denise; her stepsons, Norman (Theresa), Alan (Brandy) and Paul (Kelly); and her grandchildren, Gregory, Jordan, Hayley, Larissa, Kelsey, Drummer, Bella, Jersey, Sophia, Joselyn and Aurora. She is also survived by six sisters, four brothers as well as her Astephen brothers and sisters-in-law.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre.
