We are sad to announce that on July 21, 2023, at the age of 94, Rhoda Barnes of North Sydney, Nova Scotia, born in Harbour Mille, Newfoundland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Loven Barnes and Margaret Barnes (Rideout); her husband George Barnes; her daughter Brenda Myers (Barnes); and her siblings, Arthur, Roland Barnes, Clara, Ellen Pardy and Beatrice Taverner.

She is survived by: her sons, Levi Barnes (Peggy) of Cornwall, PEI, Richard Barnes (Wendy) of North Sydney, NS and Eric Barnes (Carla) of Cranbrook, BC; her son-in-law Will Myers of Moncton, NB; her brother Willoughby Barnes; her grandchildren, Barbara Koscielny of Edmonton, AB, Michael Barnes of Ottawa, ON, Elaine Barnes of Cornwall, PE, Tracy Clements of Musquodoboit Harbour, NS, Cory Barnes of Yarmouth, NS, Johanna Champion of Calgary, AB, Tara Barnes of Calgary, AB and Deanna Barnes of Cranbrook, BC.; and her great grandchildren, Liam Barnes, Mikhail, Natalya Koscielny, Katelyn, David Barnes, Riley, Jackson Clements, Connor and Cameron Barnes.
