She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Purdie and Henrietta Purdie (Fortune); her husband Shirl; and her siblings, Patsy Baxendale, Jean Pero (Gino), Kevin Baxendale (Carol) and John Purdie (Sue).
She is survived by: her children, Pauline Melanson (Bruce), Patricia Kohlsmith (Doug), Carol Anne MacLean (John Hugh), Cecil Hillier (Daryl) and Brian Hillier (Annette); her great grandchildren, Hayden, Nolan LeBlanc, Sawyer Ivey, Luna Hillier and Anthony Hillier-Hood; and her nieces and nephews, Joe Purdie (Rose), Gordie Baxendale (Inga), Paul Baxendale, Cathy Kiley (Hughie) and Arthena Stubbert.
Memorial donations may be made to the North Sydney or Sydney Mines Food Banks or the SPCA.
