He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sparkes and Elizabeth Sparkes (Rose); his wife Violet; and his siblings, Charles, James, Bill and Olive.
He is survived by: his children, Harold (Viola), John Arnold (Brenda) and Bonnie (Allan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
