It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Cavanaugh (North Sydney, Nova Scotia), who passed away on April 24, 2018, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Raymond Oxford; her former husband Clarence C. Boyd; her children, Paula and John; her grandchildren, Ann Marie Howatson and Patrick Nicholson; and her sisters, Theresa, Dorothy, Shirley and Daisy.
She is survived by: her parent Mary Jane Oxford (Osmond); her husband Dan Cavanaugh; her children, Barbara Maynard (John), Madonna Myalls (Wally), Yvonne Poole (Bill), North Sydney, Larry Boyd (Jackie), Richard MacIntyre, Blair MacIntyre, Paul MacIntyre, Joann Whyte (Harry), Sheila MacIntyre, Danette Laffin (Leon) and Tracy Cavanaugh (Michelle); and her brothers, Melvin Oxford (Debbie) of Ingonish, Raymond Oxford of Ingonish, Violet Whitty (Maurice) of Ingonish, Billy Scott (Millie) of Ingonish, George Whitty (Wanda) of Ingonish and Maria Fitzgerald. She is also survived by grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the CNIB or to a charity of one's choice.
