She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Holec and Annie Holec (Hatcher); her husband John MacNeil; her daughter Joan MacNeil; and her siblings, Joseph "Junior" Holec, Queenie Deacon and Evelyn Carr.

She is survived by: her children, Heather Gosse (Peter) of Oromocto, NB and Wayne MacNeil (Francine) of Moncton, NB; her grandchildren, Michelle (Todd), Renee (Kyle) and Shaun (Monica); and her great grandchildren, Meaghan, Christopher, Caleb, Zoe, Evelyn and Kate. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Centre at Cape Breton Regional Hospital or Northside Community Guest Home Foundation.
