It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacob Buis (North Sydney, Nova Scotia), who passed away on November 5, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Antoon and Mina; and his siblings, Nel, Catherine, Leis, Ellen, Luke and Altoon.

He is survived by: his close friend Veronica Buis (VanVelzen); his children, Randall, Patrick (Amy), Brian (Joanne), David (Susan), Joanne (Reggie Day) and Glenn (Melody MacNeil); his grandchildren, Brian Keith (Amanda), Jaclyn (Scott), Ryan (Amanda), Petra (Andrew), Breanna (Brian), Brandon (Kaelynn), Brittany (Sam), Jacob (Brigid), William and Micayla (Aidan); his great grandchildren, Natalie, Taya, Elliot, Rhett, Theo and Sadie; and his brothers, Peit and John Buis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Cape Breton Regional Hospital "Forget Me Nots".
