He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Ongo and Eva Ongo (Strickland); his wife Mary Catherine Ongo (Poirier); and his siblings, Donald, Fred and Eleanor Chamberlain.
He is survived by: his children, Frank Jr. (Shannon) and Tevis Ongo (Joseph); his grandchildren, Chris, Tyler, Justin, Andrew, Michelle and Devin; his great grandchildren, Hylie, Mya, Emmett, Brianna, Chloe and Hunter; his close friend Shirley Robinson; and his siblings, John, Leo, Lloyd (Audrey Ann), David (Lillian), Louise Ongo, Yvonne Moffatt, Carole Russo, Marlene Salt-Marsh and Sylvia Ferguson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to restrictions surrounding Covid-19, a family visitation will be held with prayers officiated by Rev. Doug MacDonald in the W. J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Kiwanis Golden K or Hospice/Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
