He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Slade and Violet Slade (Patey); his son Shawn Slade; and his siblings, Shirley MacDonald, Mae MacKinnon and Robert Slade.

He is survived by: his wife Lena Slade (Anderson); his children, Nina Slade, Westmount, Leanne MacKinnon and Lorne Slade (Margaret); his daughter-in-law Rosemary Coffin of Kanata, ON; his grandchildren, Carla, Amanda, Nicholas, Shannon and Victoria; his great grandchildren, Mason, Emily, Benjamin, Jacob and Grayson; and his siblings, John Slade, Donald Slade (Anita), Sydney and Sylvia Fudge.
