He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd "Joe" Collins and Patricia Collins (MacNeil); his brother Glenn; and his close friend Elizabeth Jessome. He is survived by: his wife Kelly (Nicholson); his stepchildren, Holly Bennett (Charles) and Cody Nicholson; his son Kyle Macdonald (Jessica); his grandchildren, Saelor, Lily, Jacob, Myles and Marek; his siblings, Blair, Charles "Joey" (Joyce Felix), Tanya (Bob French), Robert Collins, Dawn, Dana (Tracey), Trudy (Gerard Vickers), Todd (Shauna), Craig (Diane) and Lee (Debbie McGuigan); his parents-in-law, Daniel and Theresa Nicholson; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Collins, Eileen Piercey and Verna Fraser (Paul); and his close friends, Darren Reid, Maureen Devoe, Paul Shepherd, Sharon Johnston, Ron Tremblett, Kelly Mills, John Gale, Stewart Shepherd, Joey and Pauline Penney. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the W. J. Dooley Funeral Home (107 Pleasant St, North Sydney, NS B2A1L9). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the W. J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel (107 Pleasant St, North Sydney, NS B2A1L9).
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
