She was predeceased by: her father Gervase Fortune; her father-in-law Richard Edgar Parsons; and her brother-in-law Lloyd Parsons. She is survived by: her mother Annie Fortune (Hurley); her husband Charles "Charlie"; her children, Charles Jr. (Benita) and Margaret Ann Julian (Dave); her grandsons, Dominic Julian and Jacob MacAulay; her sisters, Angela Burke (Winston), Simone Mutch (Brian), Margaret Lynk (Joe), Frances Hibbert, Florence Angione, Paula Fortune and Elizabeth Morrison (Leo); her mother-in-law Genevieve Turner Parsons; and her siblings-in-law, Richard Parsons (Connie), Patrick Parsons (Mary) and Marguerite Parsons. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in Carmel's name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
