She was predeceased by: her parents, Matthew Skinner and Effie Skinner (Piercey) of North Sydney; her stepmother Margaret; her in-laws, Florian (Lollie) and Rose LeBlanc; her stepbrothers, Wes, Walter and Stan; and her aunts and uncles, Stan, Harold, Henry, Jack, Ron, Philip, Fanny and Mary.
She is survived by: her husband Paul; her daughters, Katie and Emily (Michelle Skelding); her brothers, Roland (Joan) of North Sydney, Ross (Kay) of Bras d'Or and Blane of New Brunswick; her stepsister Linda Chislett (Dennis) of Barrie, Ont; her sisters-in-law, Marion Mackenzie (Seldon), Ruth Shea (Dennis), Glenda Martin (Raymond) and Lydia Fraser (Brian); and her grand-puppy Pinto. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the W. J. Dooley Funeral Home (107 Pleasant St, North Sydney, NS B2A1L9).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, An Cala Palliative Care or North Sydney Food Bank in Brenda's memory.
