She was predeceased by: her parents, James Cain (Dora) and Christine Cain (Downey); her husband Henry Simmonds; her siblings, Jarvis, Angust, James, Ronnie and Vennie; her goddaughters, Madeline Downey (Hiyi) and Beulah Beals; and her close friends, Alvina Cain and Elizabeth Whynder.
She is survived by: her close friend Evelyn Sparks; her daughters, Debra (North Preston) and Patricia (Dartmouth); her stepdaughter Marion (Cherry Brook); her grandchildren, Teaira (North Preston), Michael Dartmouth (Amanda), Anthoney (Dartmouth), Jessica (Dartmouth), Randell (Dartmouth), Sherry (Dartmouth), David Dartmouth (Lisa), Rodney (Cherry Brook) and Trevor (Cherry Brook); her siblings, Evelyn (Cherry Brook), Loraine Ohio (Lee), Abbey (Brampton), Violet (Halifax), Alma (Dartmouth), Rhoda North Preston (Donald), Pearl (Toronto), Yyvone (North Preston), Jennifer (Dartmouth), Melvin (North Preston), Bobby (Dartmouth), Beasley (North Preston), Raymond (Dartmouth) and Stephen (Dartmouth); her close friends, Ethel Fraser, Winifred Willis-Beals, Viola Cain, Vivian Crawley and Maxine Downey; and her godchildren, Vincent Glasgow, Reggie Smith, Leon'Chucky'Downey, Christie Cain and Jeffery Cain. She is also survived by 36 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
