He was predeceased by: his parents, Deacon Gordon Sr. and Layola Cain (Willis); his wife Alvina Cain (Simmonds); his children, David and Yvonne (Susanne); his goddaughter Madeline Downey (Hiyi); his siblings, Mandy, Gordon Jr., Vernon, Helen, Coreen, Dale and Norella; and his grandparents, James, Margarete Willis, William and Charlotte Cain.

He is survived by: his children, Jeffery, Jerry (Heather), Norma Jene (Gregory), Mildred (Terrence) of East Preston, Cheryl, Christie, Natilee, Valarie, Kimberly, Roxanne, Sabrina Harrison (Jason), Ollie, Marsha and Glenda; his sisters, Lolita Provo (Clinton), Charlotte and Carmella; his sisters-in-law, Audrey Cain and Dale Cain; his brothers, Ivan Willis (Muriel), Cisco (Shelly), Miles and Michael (Shonda); his close friends, Deacon Clary Fraser, Marjorie Simmonds, Douglas Byers, Harold Grant Jr., Ronnie Smith, Todd Colley and Loriene Downey; and his godchildren, Martina Izzard, Linda Downey, Kim Simmonds (Cain) and Wendel Willis. He is also survived by 67 grandchildren; 50 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
