He was predeceased by: his parent Ernest Smith; his brothers, Tom, Art and Leonard; his stepsiblings, John Joe of Pat, Mary Emma and Millie; his father-in-law Alex Gouthro; and his brother-in-law Alfred Lamey.
He is survived by: his parent Mary Smith (Kelly); his wife Debbie; his sons, Chad (Gena) and Justin; his mother-in-law Mary Gouthro; his grandchildren, Jake of Dean and Chad; his siblings, Gert Nugent (Johnny) and Ernie (Pat); and his siblings-in-law, Beverly Morrison, Alice, Marge Hiltz (Ron), Florence (Billy), Mary MacLean (Mark), Margie, Russell Blanchard, Alex Gouthro and Bob Gouthro (Sissy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
