He was predeceased by: his parent Hugh Bailey; his siblings, Colin, Jack, John, Leonard, Phyllis, Elizabeth and Clarabelle; his son-in-law Vern Hillier; and also, Harriet Gillis and Charles Gillis.

He is survived by: his parent Mary Bailey; his wife Helen (Gillis); his children, Marilyn (Vern), Tony (Pam), Blair (Karen) and Lorne (Sherry); his grandchildren, Lori, Allison, Casey, Holly and Taylor; his great grandchildren, Jesse, Elliott, Lexi, Logan and Emily; and his sisters-in-law, Frances Bailey and Alexena Gillis.
