He was predeceased by: his parents, John O'Brien and Maurina O'Brien (Gillis). He is survived by: his wife Beverly (MacCormick); his children, Jonathan (Jaunni) and Darlene Noble (Paul); his grandsons, Quinlin and Aven; his siblings, Bernita Milburn (Paul), Sheila O'Brien, Leroy (Liz), Aubrey (Maureen) and Mervin (Wanda); his aunt Mary Gillis; his cousins, Margie Gillis and Joanie McInnis (Shea); and his friend Jeff Sands. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
