He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander H. "Gander" and Mary B. Roach (MacNeil); and his siblings, Teresa, Bernetta, Leo and Joe.

He is survived by: his girlfriend Sheila Howell; his girlfriend's sons, Justin (Candace) and Andrew (Laura); his daughter Amanda (Jason); and his siblings, Henry MacKinnon (Laura), Donald Roach (Mary), Michael Roach (Dawn), Mary MacKinnon, Marie MacLean (Pete), Carmel Muise (Linus), Lorraine Chorazy (Matthew) and Kathy Roach. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Brookside Cemetery (1035 Main St, Sydney Mines, NS B1V2M6).
