She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Swinimer and Viola Swinimer (McDow); her children, Joycelyn, Linda and Murray, Jr; her granddaughter Jennifer; her great grandchildren, Keionna and Khiezha; and her siblings, Otis, Murray, Jerome, Joyce and Goldie.

She is survived by: her husband Murray Long; her children, Mary Ellen Reeves (Miles), Angela Webber and Danny Long (Sharon); and her siblings, Leo (Avis) and Marie Schlais of California, USA. She is also survived by grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
