He was predeceased by: his parents, Clara Violet Doherty (Loomer) of Black Rock and Earl Carey of Falmouth. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Carey of Windsor, Scott Carey (Susan Ramsay) of Edmonton, AB, Jennifer Carey of Windsor and Tammy Ogilvie (Corey Doucette) of Grande Prairie, AB; his granddaughter Annalise of Grande Prairie, AB; his brothers, Floyd Carey of Truro, Bruce Carey of Windsor and Donald Carey; his stepparents, James Doherty and Gladys Carey; his former wife Joan Carey; and his uncle Donald.

Memorial donations may be made to the Valley Search and Rescue or the local SPCA.
