He was predeceased by: his parents, Joesph Clinton Gaul and Gigina Gaul (Mordenti); his wife Doretha Gaul (Ernst); and his siblings, Madelyn, Nancy, Pam and Joseph.

He is survived by: his children, Barry Gaul (Denise Hansen), Peter Gaul, Nancy Gaul, New Minas and Ann-Marie Mutch; his grandchildren, Gina Gaul, Kevin Gaul, Amanda Gaul, Scott Gaul, Rachel Veley, Elijah Mutch and Samuel Mutch; and also Albert Craswell.
