It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerhardus Gerrits (New Minas, Nova Scotia), who passed away on December 1, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Berend Jan and Johanna Gerrits (Marsman); his wife Hendrikjen "Henny"; his sister Siny Vanderlaan; and his siblings-in-law, Janna Gerrits, Rinny Gerrits, Henk Wittenberg and Don Vanderlaan.
He is survived by: his children, Joanne Gates (Eric), John (Jill), Sheffield Mills, Arlene Harbers (Stephen), Lower Wolfville and Sharon MacPherson (Everett); his grandchildren, Jonathan Gates (Eve Rowsell), Shannon Ballantyne (Dave), Hannah Gates (Dan Gallant), Jessica Gillis (Brian), Amanda Paré (Bill), Shane Gerrits, Weston Gerrits (Janine Radul), Matthew Gerrits, Ceilidh MacPherson, Kristen MacPherson, Rebecca MacPherson and Cameron MacPherson; his great grandchildren, Jillian Gillis, Connor Gillis, Ethan Paré, James Paré, Jack Gates, Lillian Ballantyne and Bayne Ballantyne; and his siblings, Dina Wittenberg, Tini Rombaut (Chris), Albert Gerrits, Joe Gerrits (Janny), Bill Gerrits, Gerry Gerrits (Barbara), John Gerrits (Arlene), Sheffield Mills and James Gerrits. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
