He was predeceased by: his parent John Comish; his stepsons, Eric Schofield, Kirk Russell and Marg Russell; and his siblings, Charlie, Don and Elsie.

He is survived by: his parent Eleanor Comish (Curtis); his wife Bernice; his children, Stephen of Dartmouth, Shaun (Sharon) of Dartmouth, Kevin of Dartmouth, Melanie Roy (Ron) of Dartmouth and Brenda Lee (Ed White); his stepchildren, Frank Russell (Judy) of New Minas, John Russell of Port Williams, Brian Russell (Roberta) of Forest Home, Marlene Beatty (Doug) of Ontario and Nancy Russell (Ron Mappleback) of Wolfville Ridge; his sisters, Mona Smith of Victoria, BC and Ethel Comish of Hamilton, ON; and his granddaughter Christina. He is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren (one more on the way); several nieces and nephews.
