She was predeceased by: her parents, Hedley Russell and Thelma Bessie Jones (Cooke); her brother Whitman Russell; and her mother-in-law Muriel Foote. She is survived by: her significant other Darryl Ross; her sons, Fred (Lynn), George (Cathy) and Shaun; her stepson Robbie of Stellarton; her daughters, Cavelle Veenhuis (Rennie), Kathleen Fontaine (Terry), Dolly Mertin (Eugene), River John, Stephanie Pettipas (Chuck) and McPhersons Mills; her parent-in-law Melvin Ross; her sisters-in-law, Sharon and Olivia; and also Donelda Ross.

Donations in Thelma's memory may be made to the Sutherlands River Presbyterian Church or the Telford Cemetery.
