He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Crowtz and Lester MacLaughlin; his sister Bernice; his brother-in-law Phil Dunbar; and his nephew Matthew MacLaughlin.

He is survived by: his siblings, Helen Logan (Bill), Dan Crowtz (Laverne), Gerald MacLaughlin (Paulette), Bert MacLaughlin (Dianna) and Elmer MacLaughlin. He is also survived by several nephews and one niece.
