He was predeceased by: his parents, William Trelea and Alice Kathleen Cochrane (Vance); his wife Lois Marie (Johnston); and his siblings-in-law, Marlene Cochrane and Jeff MacDonald.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Jr. (Eleanor Halliday), Mount William, Mike (Helen Francis), Pictou Landing, Tim (Pam Cassidy) and Tracey Hoxha (Elton) of Langley, B. C.; his grandchildren, Laura, Samantha, William, Brett, Darkat, Erik and Benson; his brother Bill Cochrane; his sisters-in-law, Kathleen MacDonald and Ruth Campbell (Ross); and his nephews, Blaine MacDonald and Dr. Clayton MacDonald (Priyanka).
