Matilda Fillmore Obituary

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Matilda Fillmore (New Glasgow, Nova Scotia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Matilda left this world on February 25, 2025, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Pero and Mary Pero; her sister Mary; and her brothers-in-law, Wayne England and Bob MacIsaac.

She is survived by: her husband Rick Fillmore; her children, Suzanne Banks (Josh) of Squamish, BC and Shaun Fillmore (Lori); her siblings, Marie Works (Paul), Abercrombie, Margaret England, Marlene MacNaughton (Michael), John (New Glasgow) and Peter Pitts; and her siblings-in-law, Donald Turner (Sheila) and Elaine McVey (Bob). She is also survived by numerous extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close family friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the R. H. Porter Funeral Home (55 Almont Ave, New Glasgow, NS B2H 3G5). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church (390 High St, New Glasgow, NS B2H2X7).
