He was predeceased by: his father John Ryan; his sons, Gordon and Jared; his niece Allyson Kinley; his brother-in-law Amby Heighton; and his parents-in-law, Hazel and Mel Gadd.

He is survived by: his mother Marguerite Ryan (Pineau); his wife Kathryn (Gadd); his children, Jill (Kristin), Tyler (Sue) and Jake (Katie); his grandchildren, Maeve, Oren, Gabriel and Micah; his siblings, Rita Heighton (Amby), Jim (Shawn), Larry (Karen), Gerard (Giselle), Edwin (Cathy), Brenda (Stephanie) and Adele Kinley (Rick); and his close friends, Phyllis and Bruce Holton. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
