He is survived by: his wife Ruth Thompson (Gardner); his children, Robert (Ponds), Doug (Edmonton), Lisa (Stellarton) and Andy (Plymouth); his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Scott, Mark, Ami, Chika, Layo, Hayley, Rory, Dylana, Skyler and Sam; and his siblings, Leo (Sarah), Lillian (Geordie), Minnie (Bob), Camilla (Charlie) and Leonard (Paula).
