He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Henry and Margart McFarland (Molloy); his significant other Connor MacNeil; his former wife Irene McGillicuddy; his brothers, Francis and Hugh; and his siblings-in-law, Kathleen, Barbara and Joseph Neary.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Anderson; his children, John, Mike, Taffy (Luc), Patty (Mike), Joey (Maria), Debbi (Kelly), David (Lidia) and Danny (Rozana); his grandchildren, Branton, Emilie, Eric, Michael, Colin, Alison, Caterina, Nicholas, Brett, Noah, Melissa, Andrea, Ryan, Jake and Juliana; his great grandchildren, Lily and Ava; his siblings, Paul (Sara), Ruth Neary and Jean Small (Peter); his stepchildren, Tony (Darla), Mark (Cathy), Tara (Lee) and Tim (Crystal); and his stepgrandchildren, Seamus, Emile, Liam, Claire, Nathan, Logan and Lauren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the C. L. Curry Funeral Home (135 College St, Antigonish, NS B2G1X9). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier University Chapel.
