He was predeceased by: his parents, George Darroch and Mary Josephine Darroch (DeCoste); and his siblings, Dennis and Maddie. He is survived by: his wife Sharon (MacPherson); his children, Kelly Barnes (Terry) and John (Jacqueline); his grandchildren, Kayla, John, Cory, Kyle, Teagan, Tyler, Brittany and Shaelynn; and his siblings, Linda Darroch, Nancy Hayden (Bert), Brenda Vance (Donny), Fraser (Brenda) and Gary.

As per Nova Scotia COVID-19 restrictions, all attendees must wear a mask and show proof of full vaccination and valid ID at both the visitation and funeral.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of choice.
