Edwin Sproull Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edwin Sproull (New Glasgow, Nova Scotia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 14, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sproull and Gladys Sproull of Pictou Landing; his wife Diane (Johnston); and his brothers, Douglas and Allison.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Sproull (Sue Ann) and Paula Irving (Allan); his grandchildren, Ashley Irving (Mark Vokey) and Allison Irving of Halifax; his sister Carolyn MacMillan (Barrie); his brother-in-law Ralph Johnston (Lynn); and his caregivers, Cheryl, Beth, Cathy, Krista-Lee and Kay. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the R. H. Porter Funeral Home (55 Almont Ave, New Glasgow, NS B2H3G5). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Summer Street (72 Park St, New Glasgow, NS B2H5B8).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in his memory to the Canadian Lung Association (https://www.lung.ca) or to the Trenton Scotian's Junior B Hockey Team (donations can be made payable to Pictou County Jr B Scotians Hockey via e-transfer: email protected, or by mail at 211 Frasers Lane, New Glasgow, NS, B2H4A5) so his spirit of giving may continue.
