He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Carrigan and Eva Carrigan; his uncle Jim; his aunt Sarah Cunningham; his sister-in-law Marie Stewart; and his niece Heather Connors.

He is survived by: his nephew Raymond Connors; his wife Dorothy Carrigan (Connors); his children, Samantha Greene (Chris) and Mitchell Carrigan (Nicole); his granddaughters, Brooke, Presleigh and Lainey; his brother Bernie Carrigan (Diane); and his brothers-in-law, Lauchie Connors (Heather), Glenn Connors (Jacqueline) and Alex Stewart.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Pictou County Palliative Care Society or Diabetes Canada.
